There will be no practices on holidays

The Flyers training schedule is designed to complement the school seasons and our practices will revolve around those schedules to avoid coaches and athlete conflicts.  While we provide close to year-round training sessions, the practice styles will adjust to cater those in season athletes. We will not hold practices during school championship seasons.

After each competition season there will be a rest period before resuming practices.

Types of Practices

Track Day

Here anything goes when it comes to Track & field. Athletes will be split into groups based on their designated events: Distance, Sprinters, Jumpers, Hurdlers, Throwers, Race Walking and Multi's.

Family Fun Runs

For our monthly fun runs, we will meet in downtown Celebration near Lakeside Park and run the lap around Lake Rianhard. This is approximately a 3/4 loop of a mile. All family members and friends are welcome to join us and after the workout we gather for ice cream at Kilwins.

Hills

Florida is very flat unfortunately! We like to utilize the space we have and will sometimes train on the overpass near I4. However, when we seriously need some hill training, we head to the National Training Center in Clermont. We Park behind the Cooper Memorial Library at 2525 Oakley Seaver Drive Clermont, FL 34711

Speed & Agility Days

This day will incorporate any style of Agility Training/Explosive Training: HIIT, Medicine balls, TRX ropes, Parachutes, Sleds, Box Jumps. Here athletes will learn to improve the control of their bodies while balancing the demand of power and strength.

Long Runs

If you are a long distance runner, odds are we will send you out to run a few miles, utilizing the beautiful trails in Celebration.

Strength Day

A strength training day, often this will be with weights or free body exercises. This day is designed to build strength, along with teach weight room fundamentals. For the use of weights, we will require parent permission from all of our younger Flyers (both Elementary/Middle School). If they are not yet comfortable, we can incorporate learning the proper technique with free body weight exercises to establish a base level.

Field Day

For our monthly fun runs, we will meet in downtown Celebration near Lakeside Park and run the lap around Lake Rianhard. This is approximately a 3/4 loop of a mile. All family members and friends are welcome to join us and after the workout we gather for ice cream at Kilwins.

In-Season Sessions

These days are important for the athletes who wish to get that extra individual training they didn’t receive during the school sessions. We never want to overwork our athletes but these days allow us to focus more on the mental side of competing.  Those Big Flyers who attend the in-season training sessions will be able to grow as a mentor to our younger Flyers, who don't train daily and attend these practices.

Rest Day

Rest days are extremely important for the athlete's recovery process. Athletes need time to rest and recover not only their muscles and also their minds. We ask that you do not overtrain and listen to your body, take a day to rest, and recover your muscles.
